The Little Lilypad is a lifestyle blog mostly written by a mum to two beautiful, cheeky and entertaining daughters. It is sometimes written by the Man on the Pad or by one of our baby bloggers. Occasionally we accept guest posts too. There is frequently talk of sustainable living, saving money, lifestyle and travel. It is hopefully helpful, sometimes funny and always honest.

  1. There are lots of big occassions throughout the year and to be honest, I don't generally need much of an excuse to celebrate anything but for the men in the family, aside from remembering flowers on Birthdays and Mothers Day, they tend not to take much notice of everything going on ..... aside from in June.

June is the male equivalent of my girls Christmas!

June is the month where everything comes at once.

June provides a combincation of football and Fathers Day!

In order to celebrate these two events Hallmark has also collided the two events, firstly Hallmark have a fabulous competition running for those football crazy men in your life.  All you need to do is simply check out the competition to win a tour of dads favourite sports stadium for two.

In the meantime, have a look at the infographic they have created to see what type of Football Dad yours is. My Dad is a life long Aston Villa fan so he is unsurprisingly The Traditionalist ......

It seems to nice to open ..... but I will and I will report back with a full review soon.

If you didn't guess, the package is from those funky folk at Spoilt Rotten. All their clothing is Organic, which not only gives a softer feel, but also helps reduce irritation and allergies. We love that they use no chemicals in the print, which also ensures no cotton fibres are damaged. They have a great range for ALL the family, you don't have to be small to be spoilt!

  3. I loved hosting the Wot So Funee linky last week and it has made me realise how humourous my girls can be because all week I have thought, "ooh that could be my Wot So Funee next week" or "oooh or so could that" but my post today is a short one and is thanks to the powerhouse that is the Disney film Frozen.

Frozen is played every single day in our house.

Every day. I kid you not.

But as the days go on, the little one finds new things to talk (or sing about ..... but remember, I am not allowed to sing or she will turn it off).

Yesterday, she was watching and she started laughing and said:

Toddler : Mummy, Anna has a sweaty head!

    Me : A what?

Toddler : A sweaty head mummy, her hair is all over the shop!

Me : Have you been listening to Nanny again?

I think my mum has a lot to answer for!

Wot So Funee is back at its natural home of Actually Mummy today, if you are looking for the linky!

  4. I take lots of photos but always have a reluctance to share too many actual facial shots of my girls on the blog. In a world where I speak a lot about their lives, I have always felt a bit nervous about uploading their lives in a physical rather than just a virtual sense.

We had some professional photos taken a little while back and we collected the finished images this weekend. I was thrilled with the results, especially as my eldest daughter always tends to shut her eyes right at the "capture moment". So today we were out, enjoying an afternoon in the sunshine with friends and my eldest daughter chose to get her face painted.

She is at the age where one day soon she will decide that she is "too cool" to have her face painted, that she will be "too cool" to go on the bouncy castle but today, she was all laughter, smiles and chose a delicate and very pretty flower design for her face.

    Her second name is Lily.

Today she was my beautiful flower girl.

I captured the smile in her eyes. Can I capture that forever?
