  1. Lalaloopsy Babies Potty Surprise Review & Competition

    Posted on

Many years ago my eldest daughter had a number of Lalaloopsy dolls and whilst I always thought that they were super cute, my youngest daughter never showed much interest. So when the time came, I gave her collection of dolls away to a charity shop. Typically just months later my youngest daughter becomes obsessed with baby dolls and suddenly I am kicking myself for giving her sisters away. Since then and on a fairly daily basis, my daughter asks for a potty for her "babies" so when we were given the chance to review the Lalaloopsy Babies Potty Surprise, we leapt at the chance.

Lalaloopsy Potty Surprise DollReview & Competition (1)

Lalaloopsy dolls are not your conventional "baby dolls", they have a  very distinctive look about them and the Lalaloopsy Babies Potty Surprise is no different.

Obviously you have to wrestle with all the ties and packaging whilst having a small child bouncing up and down next to you while you attempt to remove everything from the box but once it is open, the set includes:

    • Lalaloopsy Baby wearing a cute little bib and a pretty nappy.
    • Potty,
    • Bowl with spoon
    • 3 pots of magic food. wearing a cute little bib and a pretty nappy.

535737 Lalaloopsy Babies Surprise Potty (5)

My daughter played with the doll by itself for some time before asking about the "potty surprises" and so we set about trying to feed the doll with the food. (Think magic sand and you won't be far wrong).

535737 Lalaloopsy Babies Surprise Potty (6)

So in theory you pop the spoon with some food on it into her mouth and turn the dial on the back of the baby to one of the four positions. Then you need to turn the belly button to the right and hold it there for a few seconds. (this is the tough bit and my daughter couldn't do this by herself). You then need to sit the baby on the potty and gently rock her forwards and backwards a few times, which techinically triggers the poop release and out comes the potty surprise.

535737 Lalaloopsy Babies Surprise Potty (3)

In all honesty, we haven't managed to consistently achieve some of the shapes above but that doesn't mean we haven't laughed everytime the baby has pooped out a random shape into the potty.

At £29.99, the Lalaloopsy Babies Potty Surprise is not only well priced but well made too. Aside from this, my daughter adores her and gets excited to play with her every single day. We are therefore just as excited to give you the chance to win one and all you need to do is enter below!

  2. 5 ways to show Dad some love this Father’s Day (and win one too)

5 ways to show Dad some love this Father’s Day

Father’s Day will soon be upon us and of course, one of the best feelings in the world is showering loved ones with gifts of appreciation, but there are other ways to show we care.

This Father’s Day, for my children, myself, and all the other mums out there, I propose that we all go back to basics and find inventive ways to show Dads some love.

Show some interest in his hobbies

OK, they may be boring, but have you ever actually shown given any attention to Dad’s interests? From stereotypical football fanatics, to golf, motors, fishing and everything in between, Father’s Day is an opportunity to set some time aside and get involved. Dads are sure to love spending time with the children, painting model aeroplanes, uprooting home grown veg from the allotment, or cosying up on the sofa to watch some old-time TV classics.

Cook him up a tasty treat

Whether Dad loves steak and chips, Indian cuisine, or fish and chips, ditch the takeaway and spend an afternoon preparing a culinary delight for Sunday night. Is there really anything better than a home cooked meal, made from the heart?

Sort out a radio shout out

If your Dad still sticks on breakfast shows as he showers in the morning, why not call in to his favourite station and arrange a shout out? Get the kids together and come up with something short, but personal, and ask for it to be read out to the nation over the radio waves.

Get him something that he really wants

My husband is always telling me that I need to buy things that the recipiant will like, not just what I like and he is right. Making time time to find out about something your Dad really wants means that he doesn't have an unecessary amount of aftershave or socks.

    Ted Baker

The folk at Mainline Menswear very kindly sent us this Ted Baker Jonnys Core Mini Card Leather Wallet In Black, which is brilliantly priced at just £37.00 and is definitely something that my husband wants! He has been talking about getting a new wallet for ages, so I know that this gorgeous soft leather wallet will be perfect for Fathers Day from the girls.

    Go on a family adventure

Forget costly tickets and absurd admission prices. That’s not what this is about. Days out with Dad can simply be family dog walks across the countryside, day trips to the beach, or a picnic at the park – with football nets nearby, of course.

Togetherness is key when you have the best Dad ever. (he is mine by the way but I will agree to disagree with you on this one)

  4. Win My First Baby Annabell Bathing Doll - RRP 23.99

    Posted on

Baby Annabell is not just a baby doll. Baby Annabell is part of our family, she has been here since my eldest daughter was young and is still a firm family favourite with our youngest daughter.  So it is no surprise that she is the UK’s number one nurturing doll and Baby Annabell has several exciting new additions to its popular range of dolls and accessories this spring.

We were therefore very excited to get the chance to review My First Baby Annabell Bathing Doll. We wanted to know what makes her fully bathable as we have had dolls in the past that you could use in the bath and they ended up mouldy and full of water. But this new edition to the My First Baby Annabell range has a smooth touch body and comes with her very own bathtub.

Without sounding too strange, the body on My First Baby Annabell Bathing Doll is really soft, without joints to get water into (and ultimately go mouldy)  and when she isn't wet and splashing around in the bath, you can dress her and she is lovely to cuddle.

At a recommended retail price of £23.99, it is well priced (especially considering you get the bath too) and my daughter can't wait to take it in the pool with her on holiday! She is smaller and lighter than a "standard" Baby Annabell doll, so will fit better in the suitcase too.

My First Baby Annabell Bathing Doll is a big hit in our house and we are delighted to tell you that the kind folk at Zapf are giving you the chance to win one of your very own!
