1. Miximals Series 1| Review & Giveaway

   As you may have seen, we have gone a little bit collectable crazy recently (although some may say we have always been more than a little crazy) but we were really excited to hear about the new and exciting collectable, Miximals.

    

   Anything goes in the mixed-up, dreamed-up world of Miximals..……with possibilities as far as your imagination will stretch! In the world of Miximals, you can dream of any mixed-up animal – as wild as your imagination will take you! Maybe a bunny with an elephant trunk… a Bunnephant! Or perhaps a Cheetah that flies and sings like a Parakeet? Hello Cheetakeet!! How about a cute Panda with Octopus tentacles — meet Pandapus!

   It might sound a little bonkers but the characters are a great idea and half of the fun is trying to work out what they are a mix of. Take a look at our unboxing video to see more ..... 

   We got the chance to open up one of the Triple Surprise packs which contains the Miximal you can see in the centre and TWO surprise ones! I don't know a child who doesn't love a blind bag, so this adds to the excitment.

   It is worth noting that getting the Miximals out of the plastic packaging isn't the easiest thing for a 6 year old, so despite her being intent on being a YouTuber it is always best to supervise the unboxing! 

   

   The Miximals themselves are solid little characters but they do come with cute little accessories that wouldn't be suitable for very young children and babies, so it makes sense that the products are targeted at the 4+ age range.

   The Triple Packs retail around £12.99 and at that price point, make an ideal gift for school friends for the multiple parties they get invited to in Key Stage 1. 

   We were also thrilled to try out one of the vehicle sets that accompany the Miximals characters. They are actually really well made (not sure why I was surprised by that) but they are sturdy and would definitey stand the test of time. 

   

   So after all the excitement of yet another collectable on the market, we can definitely say that the Miximals are becoming firm favourites and we have already been to Smyths Toy Shop to buy another surprise set! You can also buy Miximals in single surprise packs and they retail at just £3.99 and I suspect we may be trying to get all 40 from the Series 1 collection.

2. BABY Secrets | Review & Giveaway

   My girls are big fans of a collectible, so we were excited to learn about the newest hit collectible with 50 baby characters to reveal. BABY Secrets is the new collectible on the scene and brings exciting little characters with big personalities. From painter baby complete with a paintbrush, to party baby with a sash and a party hat, but what is the secret??

    

   Yes, that's right,  you can find out if your baby is a boy or a girl simply by filling the bath tub with water and dipping your baby in to reveal a pink or blue nappy. 

   

   Whilst each single Baby Secrets collectible comes with its own adorable little bath tub, we have found that they are actually great in our own bath tub and make brilliant little bath toys. They don't hold water like some bath toys and are small enough to be stored away easily. 

   

   The BABY Secrets Activity Packs come in four different varieties: • Pram Pack • Bassinet Pack • High Chair Pack • Rocking Horse Pack The packs come complete with two exclusive babies, one surprise baby, a bath tub, three birth certificates, collector’s guide and either a high chair, rocking horse, pram or bassinet.

   BABY Secrets are suitable for children aged 3+ (but we would say ages 4-6 would get the most out of them). Although in saying that, one of the things I noticed as a parent is that they don't have lots of small parts that little ones can swallow which can sometimes be a bit perilous with collectibles.

3. FEARNE by Fearne Cotton Collection for Boots Miniclub | Review

   Fearne Cotton launched a range of clothing for Boots Miniclub last year and how could it fail not to be the epitome of cool? We were therefore excited to hear that the second instalment features Fearne’s first baby collection for newborns, and continues to offer gorgeous garments all the way up to 6 years. 

    

   Featuring cool and vibrant prints and colours, Fearne’s range is about standing out and having fun – while being able to move easily and feel comfortable. Filled with confident and colourful pieces, the range captures the essence of the British spring and summer vibe. From pastel pinks to trendy charcoal greys, the gorgeous colour palettes are brought to life in stylish shapes and animal prints across the collection of chic and compatible clothing including reversible bomber jackets, sweaters, dresses and easy pull-ups. 

    

   The Mini Club Cat dress is a particular favourite of our little fashionista as it is so wearable (and washable) so it gets a thumbs up from both mum and daughter. It has an all over cat print and has functional front pockets, for when the little one wants to stash away her collections of LOL Surprise Dolls or stones .... whatever takes her fancy on that particular day. At £12.00 it is also really affordable too! 

   

   The Mini Club Fearne Frill Sweatshirt  is 95% cotton but has a super soft feel to it that my daughter loves. Trying to strike a balance between comfort and fashion isn't always easy but the FEARNE by Fearne Cotton range manages to make cool clothes feel comfortable!

   

   The FEARNE by Fearne Cotton range has everything for rock chick girls and super cool boys. It provides a style that combines adorable with on trend styling but at afforable prices.

   My only criticism of the range is that it only goes up to Age 6 ..... what am I going to do when she gets too big for MiniClub at Boots?

4. L.O.L. SURPRISE! SERIES 3 Review

   What better way to celebrate Valentines than with your BFF and a L.O.L Surprise!  (Or Galentines on the 13th February, which is the new way to celebrate those girl friends you love). Even more exciting is to share the love with the NEW L.O.L Surprise Series 3 and the introduction of the Confetti Pop!

          

   This Spring, L.O.L. Surprise! Confetti Pop launches in the UK on the 14th February with nine brand new surprises including new dolls, new accessories and a new surprise water feature. The L.O.L Surprise! Confetti Pop looks similar to the first two series in shape and style and although you have your zips to "unlock" the treasures inside you suddenly get to the balls which has a "spin me" instruction to reveal sets of doors. (excitement levels definitely increased at this bit)

   

   Not only does the L.O.L Surprise! Confetti Pop have outfits, accessories, shoes and dolls - hidden amongst the layers is a ribbon, inviting you to pull and reveal a confetti pop! surprise which can be enjoyed over and over again. (we struggled with the over and over again bit but to be honest, once the doll is out that is all they care about!) The "pop" feature is exciting but definitely needs a little adult or older children's help to actually make it pop but the little LOL Surprise! jumping out is great fun.

   

   So once you have "popped" the LOL Surprise! Doll out of her ball (be prepared for the confetti) you can create your cute little character. At £10.99 the Confetti Pop is slightly more expensive than the previous series but I think that they have definitely injected a new excitement for little ones to enjoy.

   

   To compliment the Confetti Pop, they are also launching the series 3 L.O.L Surprise! Lil Sisters. They have five surprises and the clue hints at which doll is hidden inside. Reveal stickers, accessories and a doll. The surprises don’t stop there – bathe your doll to reveal her colour change water surprise. Her ball can become either a keyring or bath set. Mix and match the adorable accessories with both the L.O.L Surprise! Confetti Pop and L.O.L Surprise! Pets. There are 35+ L.O.L Surprise! Lil Sisters dolls to collect in series 3. 

   

   We have previously had LOL Suprise! Dolls as gifts and used for rewards and every time there is something new to find and discover. They are great collectables and my daughter and her friends will play with them for hours, so at the same price you can pay for a couple of magazines, there are so many more hours of fun to be had!

   The new Series 3 get a huge thumbs up from us and are no doubt going to be popping up on most little ones wishlists this year!
